Carolyn grew up in Palisade, CO and is a 4th generation member of the United Methodist Church. She attended the University of Colorado as a voice performance major. After graduating, she ventured to NYC where she earned her MSc in education and taught both high school and middle school.

Carolyn continued to explore the world and her place in it through her work designing and launching university programs for students at the margins around the globe. From refugee camps to urban centers, Carolyn deepened her passion for community development through co-creation and collaborative design. Her latest project, F Cafe is a tangible manifestation of the world she is for (the f in F Cafe!). She envisions a world where solutions hold space for complexity at the nexus of social and environmental justice.

Carolyn is a singer, writer, chef, storyteller, speaker, facilitator, coach, yogi and learner of all things. Most recently she was published alongside scholars, artists and researchers from across Africa in Langaa Publishing’s, Decolonize, Humxnize. In her essay, Where I Am, Who I Am, she shares her personal explorations of power and privilege as a transracial adoptee turned expat (economic migrant).

Lauren is a first-generation immigrant daughter, a person of faith, an educator, and a youth advocate from Southern California. Her work is shaped by the communities that have raised her, the students who continue to teach her, and her deep belief that people deserve to feel seen, supported, and valued.

She is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Denver. Lauren is also a co-founder and Graduate Student Council member for the American Association for Teaching & Curriculum, where she helps create space for graduate student voice, connection, and leadership.

Lauren currently serves as the Youth Director at University Park United Methodist Church, co-founder of Faithfull Foods, and is part of the 2026 Denver Urban Gardens Therapeutic Garden Cohort. Her experience includes special education, literacy support, youth ministry, early childhood care, coaching softball, and community-based work. Most recently, she served in the Multi-Intensive Autism Center at Samuels Elementary School, supporting students and educators through trauma-informed and applied behavior analysis (ABA) practices.

Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology and her Master’s in Education from Minot State University, where she played collegiate softball on scholarship and later coached as a Graduate Assistant. Across her work, she is committed to building relationships, creating more inclusive spaces, and walking alongside people to recognize their power and purpose

Gabrielle “Gabbi” Ohaya, a Denver native born to Nigerian immigrants is an educator with over 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur — which basically means she spent a decade getting really good at failing, making mistakes, and learning from them. Along the way, she’s mastered adaptability, creative problem-solving strategies, and strategic risk taking by working with a variety of people and communities from all over the world. . 

Known for being ambitious, colorful, and community-focused, Gabbi has worked as an elementary school teacher, and also worked for multiple non-profit organizations serving disadvantaged youth. She assisted in several business’ development projects, worked in both fine dining and West African restaurants and catered for a variety of events, resulting in tons of experience that involved tons of fun, food, and community partnership. 

Fueled by a passion for food/social justice, she is on a mission to make sure everyone is able to truly nourish their bodies and communities  — preferably with well-seasoned veggies, fun dance parties, and good music. Currently, Gabbi is a co-founder of FaithFull Food and serves as the Director of Business Development where she continues to build community partnerships, food entrepreneurial opportunities, and event management systems . Outside of work, she loves cycling, dancehall/afrobeat parties, trying new restaurants, and singing loudly off-key to amuse her son Rafi.

My name is Gianna Urban, I am an incoming senior at the University of Denver and Carolyn Tarr’s assistant for FaithFull Food! I also help with all things marketing and communications.

My name is Ben Schachterle, I recently graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Journalism and Media Communication and I’m partnering with FaithFull Food as the storyteller in residence. I film and edit video stories about our events and programming as well as produce and edit the Collective Narrative Project podcast.

My name is Embra Daylie, I have been a member of UPARK UMC for 24 years and started FFF because of my time with Agape and working with Carolyn Tarr to starting a grow program to work in cooperation with this new community
